Don’t let your ego control your destiny. We can’t possibly know everything, and we are constantly learning and growing each day. I think the key is to understand that being a creative is a life journey, a continuing work, and we are but a piece of ever-changing art as we encounter this life. What defines us is our ability to think outside the proverbial box, to arm ourselves with knowledge, strategize, choose our people wisely, act honorably and be able to pick ourselves and others back up when plans don’t exactly hit the mark. We need to remember we are women capable of giving life, metaphorically and physically. We have birth nations; a world. We indeed are capable of shining our light from within to continue to strengthen divided world and need of compassion and solidarity… but we can’t let the norm define us. As women we were taught to look down on femininity…to be quiet, be silent. To be educated, is a fall from grace. To speak up, is unmannered, loud or crude. But now we have a voice. It was not without struggle. How we choose to act defines the role of women now and in the future.”
